Jönköpings Södra IF has been banned from signing players since January 30. This is because former sporting director Junes Barny failed to register a terminated player loan with the international football federation, FIFA.

What happened?

J-Södra's loan of Norwegian player Filip Möller Delavris from Brann was terminated last summer, but former sporting director Junes Barny forgot to register it with FIFA. This has resulted in Jönköpings Södra IF being handed a transfer ban and a fine of 23,000 kronor.

Why is it important?

The ban means that Jönköpings Södra IF cannot sign new players until the matter is resolved. The club has already paid the fine and submitted the documents to FIFA, but the matter may take time to resolve.

What's next?

Jönköpings Södra IF has received help from the Swedish Football Association to contact FIFA and resolve the matter. The club hopes that the matter will be resolved soon, so that they can start signing players again.
