Jönköpings Södra IF is fighting a tough financial crisis. The association had an annual meeting that lasted four hours and the big question was how to get out of the crisis. In the association's annual report, they show a negative result of six million, the plan was for the result to be zero. Mats Tidstrand, the outgoing chairman, says that during the late summer last year, they realized they would not reach their financial goal. Jönköpings Södra IF's financial situation is serious and the club must take drastic measures to survive. The club has short-term debts of 7.5 million kronor and must now appeal for help from the supporters. J-Södra increased its expenses during the summer by bringing in more players, but it has not had the desired effect. Mats Tidstrand says that they did this because the club was in a bad position in Superettan and the assessment was that a relegation would have been worse than the situation they are in now. Jönköpings Södra IF's supporters have previously shown themselves to be very loyal and the club now hopes that they will be able to help solve the financial crisis. The club plans to raise the issue of financial support at the next member meeting and hopes that the supporters will be able to contribute to saving the club.
